Techo Duo!

January 14, 2017.

This week's new font release is "Crazy Ivan." Despite the name, it's not a faux Cyrillic or Russian font - I just liked the name! Crazy Ivan is a futuristic font with nice symmetrics between the characters. The notches in the letters enhances the font's sci-fi look and feel. The font family comes with a total of 17 variations (several versions shown below). Plus each version also comes with an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro.

And the updated font this week is version 2.0 of "Starduster." Always one of my personal favorites, Starduster is a slick and solid sci-fi workhorse of a font. Version 2.0 cleans up a lot of inconsistencies with the strokes and other non-pefections to improve the font's overall quality. Plus kerning pairs have been added to the font. There's a whole lot of new variations as well, bringing the grand total to 23, each with an extended character set.

Happy New Year!

January 5, 2017.

Here's the first new font release of 2017! "1st Enterprises" is a decidedly sci-fi future font reporting for duty. Bold and fat, 1st Enterprises still retains a cool and sleek feel to it. And the font family comes with a wide ranging twenty-four (24) variations for lots of different looks and effects (such as the Laser version shown below). As usual, each version also comes with an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro.

And the first updated font of 2017 is version 3.0 of "Governor." An all-purpose title/display font, Governor was updated once before to add more punctuation and accents. But version 3.0 vastly improves the overall quality of the font with smoother lines, better proportions and improved spacing. Plus kerning has been added to the font. And with a lot of new variations, Governor now comes with a total of 27 variations, each with an extended character set.

The longest night of the year!

December 21, 2016.

Tonight is the longest night of the year, aka the Winter Solstice. And that's the name of this week's new font too! "Winter Solstice" is a comic-book'ish title/display font with cold, crisp edges and notches as if carved from ice. Perfect for any project where you need something just a bit different! Winter Solstice comes with eleven (11) variations for different looks. Plus each version comes with an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro.

This week's updated font is version 2.0 of "Force Majeure." Created 17 years ago, Force Majeure had never been updated and didn't even come with a lot of basic punctuation. Version 2.0 is a full re-casting of the font with kerning, better proportions and spacing and a lot of error corrections. And now Force Majeure comes with an extended Latin character set. With lots of added versions, the font family now includes a total of twenty-seven (27) variations.

The letter of the day is "E"

December 13, 2016.

The new font this week is "Egg Roll." Egg Roll is a new "faux" Chinese font that pops off of the Chinese takeout boxes and straight onto your project. Attention was given to each letter to give them a consistent size and weight. There's also kerning made by hand to enhance the font's use on supported programs. The family comes with 25 variations for all kinds of effects and each version comes complete with an extended Latin character set.

The updated font for this week is version 2.0 of "Earth's Mightiest." Earth's Mightiest is a tribute font based on the original Silver Age logo for the Avengers comic book. Created 15 years ago, the font looked... well, I didn't like it. Version 2.0 recreates the font from the ground up, letter by letter. Version 2.0 has smoother edges, better weights, improved spacing and kerning. Plus the font family now includes a total of 21 variations for added versatility.

When we're cruising together.

December 3, 2016.

The new font this week is "Cruiser Fortress." A bold title font, Cruiser Fortress is a bit less futuristic then some of my other fonts inspired by spaceship hull markings. But its bold and strong and ready to be placed on the side of your ships! The font family comes with twenty-seven (27) variations for various looks and effects. Plus each version comes complete with an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro.

And keeping with the theme, the updated font for this week is version 2.0 of "Aircruiser." Aircruiser has always been a personal favorite of mine but I didn't realize how imperfect a lot of the strokes and proportions were. So instead of just fixing a few issues like I had planned, Version 2.0 recasts the font, improves the kerning and quality - and now comes with a whopping total of thirty-seven (37) different versions in the font family.

Run, Run, Run, Runaway.

November 22, 2016. Two'fer Tuesday!

The first new font is "Gunrunner." A brand new sci-fi font, Gunrunner is smooth and thin and sleek. Gunrunner can be useful beyond just futuristic project and in fact is a good fit for anything that needs a cool and modern look to it. Plus the font family comes with plenty of variations, twenty-one (21) in all, for various weights, widths and effects (my favorites being the Laser ones). Each version comes complete with an extended Latin character set.

Gunrunner

The second new release is "MOON Runner." This is a sci-fi font that I made a number of years back but simply never got around to releasing... until now! Kind of retro in a way but still modern, MOON Runner is a tall and narrow future font that includes true upper and lower case letters. MOON Runner comes with a total of seventeen (17) variations and each version has an extended Latin character set with accents and the Euro.

Up, up and away!!

November 16, 2016.

This week's new font is another superhero themed logo font, "Thunderstrike." Smashing its way onto the page, Thunderstrike is an italicized font with an action packed look and feel. Great for any project that needs to be Super! The font family comes with seven (7) versions for different looks and effects - fewer than is usual for me but I decided not to include any "straight versions." Each version includes an extended character set and kerning pairs.

Thunderstrike

This week's updated font is Version 3.0 of "Drosselmeyer." Drosselmeyer dates back close to twenty years ago and it's last update was in 2003. Drosselmeyer is a sci-fi font with true upper and lower case letters and has been rebuilt from scratch with several letter redesigns, better consistency and an improved extended character set. Version 3.0 of Drosselmeyer also has kerning and there are many new versions bringing the total to twenty-four (24).

Forward Unto The Future Once More!

November 5, 2016 - Now that the Halloween Fontfest has ended, here's a new techno/futuristic typeface for your viewing pleasure - "Defcon Zero." Ultra-hyper-sci-fi, Defcon Zero is space age in every way and then some. The font comes complete with full punctuation and an extended Latin character set, including accents and the Euro. Plus the font family includes a total of twenty-five (25) different versions for different looks.

Last font of the 6th Annual Blocktober Halloween Fontfest!

October 24, 2016 - As with year's before, this year's Blocktober Halloween Fontfest was a lot of fun for me (if not a bit hectic with "real life" stuff) and hopefully one or two of the fonts caught your eye. To bring the Fontfest to a close, here's "Carnival Corpse." Am I the only one who finds carnival clowns creepy? I didn't think so! Evil and rotted, Carnival Corpse is creepy creepy creepy! And the family includes 29 versions - that's right, you didn't read that wrong, 29! Each version also has an extended Latin character set with accents and the Euro. Enjoy Halloween everyone!

The Halloween Fontfest starts to draw to a close.

October 21, 2016 - But not quite yet! Here's another two Halloween fonts for your viewing pleasure.

The first new font today is realy an icky sticky one - "Black Gunk!" As if boiling and bubbling up from a deep tar pit, Black Gunk oozes its way into letters and numbers - don't get stuck in it! The font family has an appropriate (for this time of year) thirteen (13) versions for different looks and effects. And as usual, each version also comes with kerning pairs and an extended Latin character that includes accents and the Euro.

Black Gunk

The second font is "Pocket Monster." Roughly shaped, Pocket Monster is grotesque little font that's narrow in design to allow it to fit in anywhere - pocket-sized! What's not pocket-sized though is the number of versions in the font family - a total of twenty (20) different versions for more looks than you can shake a stick at, each with an extended Latin character set. There may be another font squeezed in here so you might want to check back!

The Halloween Fontfest continues!

October 18, 2016 - And the hits keep coming!!!

First up today is "Gobln Creek," a swamp font with a nasty attitude! Messay and mossy, Goblin Creek looks like a Halloween font that's jumping off the screen of classic monster movies. The font family includes eighteen (18) variations for different effects - be sure to check out the "Riddled" versions! In addition, each version also comes with an extended Latin character set (including accents and the Euro) and kerning pairs.

Goblin Creek

The second new font is "Vampire Bride." Sharp lines and bent angles accentuate this font's evil look and feel. Vampire Bride is a "clean" Halloween font that will work very well at smaller point sizes. The font family includes a wide raning twenty-four (24) variations for all kinds of effects, my favorite being the messier "Ruined" versions. Each version also contains kerning pairs and an extended Latin character set with accents and the Euro.

Blocktober Halloween Fontfest!

October 15, 2016 - Two more brand new Halloween fonts as the Blocktober Halloween Fontfest continues!

The first spooky new font is appropriately named "Nightmare Alley," and the stuff of nightmares it is! Grisly and tattered, Nightmare Alley is the font equivalent of a dark alley with a dead end. Nothing whimsical about this one. The font family comes with a wide-ranging total of twenty-one (21) variations for different looks and effects. Plus each version also sports an extended Latin character set (with accents and the Euro) as well as kerning pairs.

Nightmare Alley

The second new font is "Red Undead." Red Undead would be a pretty normal font... well, if it wasn't dripping and oozing with streaks of blood that is! Carved out of the proverbial pound of flesh, Red Undead is perfect for Halloween projects. The font family includes eighteen (18) variations. Each version also contains an extended character set with accents and the Euro and kerning. More to come for this year's Fontfest, so keep checking back!

Blocktober Halloween Fontfest!

October 13, 2016 - It's Thursday the 13th! So let's kick off the sixth annual Blocktober Halloween Fontfest! with two new Halloween fonts!

First up is "Ghoulish Intent," a creepy looking font with a narrower design that's great for use in portrait oriented projects or anywhere that has limited horizontal space. Eerie and uneven, Ghoulish Intent comes complete with a total of twenty-two (22) variations for all kinds of looks and effects (each version including an extended Latin character set). In addition, the capital letters are larger than the lower case to allow for an approximate look of capitalization.

Ghoulish Intent
Ghoulish Intent
The second font is "Worm Cuisine." A Halloween font with more of a whimsical/fun design, Worm Cuisine looks like it's been muched on a whole lot! Kind of how a book worm or a caterpillar might go to town on some leaves. The font includes twenty-two versions as well (22) versions with different weights, effects and rotations. As usual, each version contains an extended character set with accents and the Euro. We're just getting started with this year's Fontfest, so keep checking back!

And remember, you can still find all of the Halloween fonts from last year's Fontfest at the bottom of this page!

All Hallow's Eve 2016 is fast approaching!

October 9, 2016 - Here's a preview of things to come next week for Iconian Fonts' 6th annual Blocktober Halloween Fontfest! Over the next 10 days or so I'll be releasing a number of Halloween fonts and to get in the "spirit" here's the first one - Instant Zen! Instant Zen is modelled after the classic rock concert posters used by the famous music promoter Bill Graham for performers like Jimi Hendrix. So while inspired by psychadelic music promtions, the font also looks absolutely evil - and perfect for Halloween projects! The font family comes with 16 versions and each includes an extended character set. Be sure to check back often next week!

Cuts like a knife!

October 1, 2016.

This week's new font is "Viceroy of Deacons." Viceroy of Deacons is a comic book inspired title font I made back in 2013 but never got around to releasing. Tall and narrow, the letters are built with sharp angles and points. The font family includes eighteen (18) versions for different looks and effects. Plus each version includes an extended Latin character set with kerning pairs. In addition, a number of the letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases.

Up next will be the start of Iconian Font's Annual Blocktober Halloween Font Fest!

Savage Barbarian!

September 24, 2016.

This week's new font release is "Banjin!" Banjin is Japanese for "barbarian." You may ask yourself, "is this supposed to be a Japanese inspired design???" The answer is, nope - I just like the word! Banjin is a solid bold typeface for whenever you want a futuristic "heaviness" to your project. The family includes 21 versions for different looks, and each version includes an extended character set. In addition, many of the letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases.

Introducing Drone Tracker!

September 14, 2016.

Today's new font release is "Drone Tracker!" Drone Tracker is a clean, solid sci-fi title/display font that's extremely modern and legible. Cool and futuristic, Drone Tracker is nicely sized for use in any number of project sizes. The font family includes... wait for it... thirty-three (33) versions for different weights, effects and looks. This makes Drone Tracker a versatile work horse of a font. Each version includes an extended character set and kerning pairs.

No updated font this week - and updates will likely be sparse for the time being as I gear up for Iconian Font's Annual Blocktober Halloween Font Fest!

It's Memorial Day Weekend - Never Forget!

September 2, 2016.

This week's new font is "Classic Cobra!" Classic Cobra is a faithful reproduction of the old Shelby Cobra mustang logo. The fastest mass-produced car ever in American history, the Shelby Cobra is an American icon. This font is very elongated to stay true to the original logo, so it may be difficult to use in narrower spaces - but there are several condensed versions to help in this regard. The font family includes twenty-five (25) versions and each includes an extended character set.

This week's updated font is not really an update but rather an extension of the Phoenicia font family. After playing around some more with the font, I decided to create a version with lower case letters in addition to the capital letters. The result is "Phoenicia Lower Case." The font family includes a total of fifteen (15) different versions, each with its own extended Latin character set and kerning pairs. Now the Phoenicia family is even more versatile!

Comic Book Kit!

August 23, 2016.

Not a TWO'fe Tuesday but a THREE'fer Tuesday! Three comic book themed fonts for any fellow comic book geeks like me!

The first comic-themed font is a super-heroic logo font, "Raider Crusader!" Jumping off the pages of your newstand comic books, Raider Crusader is a sharp and stylized font that tattoos "action" onto your project. Raider Crusader is an italicized font with one "straight version" to give users the option. In total, there are twenty (20) versions in the font family including two versions that align the capital letters differently with lowe case letters. Each version includes an extended character set.

Raider Crusader

The second comic-themed font is a bold headline and title font, aptly named "New Comic Title!" New Comic Title is an all-caps font for titling purposes and works well with any number of logo-fonts for secondary text purposes. The typeface is intentionally narrower to better accomodate available horizontal space with portrait oriented projects. There are a total of seventeen (17) variations in the font family and each has an extended Latin character set.

New Comic Title

The third comic-themed font is a new cartoon lettering and dialogue font, "Domino Mask!" With nice spacing, Domino Mask is not as bold as a number of my other dialogue fonts so that it reads very legibly at smaller point sizes. And to make the font resemble hand-lettering even more, each of the letters has a different version between the upper and lower cases. Domino Mask comes with fourteen (14) variations for different weights and effects, each with an extended character set.

New Stencil Font!

August 13, 2016.

Introducing this week's new font, "Domino Jack!" Domino Jack is a sci-fi military stencil font that's heavy and bold with a cool futuristic look. Note that the upper case letters have fewer stencil lines than the lower case making it just as useful if you prefer a more solid look for the characters. There are twenty-seven (27) versions in the font family for lots of different looks and effects and each version includes an extended character set and kerning pairs.

This week's updated font is Version 3.0 of "Moltors." A very early font of mine, Moltors has been fairly popular and, honestly, I don't know why. Maybe it's the uneven parameters between several of the letters. In any event, Version 3.0 recasts the font with redesigns of several of the letters, better proportions and consistency and an improved extended character set. Version 3.0 of Moltors also has kerning and there are several new versions bringing the total to fourteen (14).

The Dog Days of Summer

July 30, 2016.

This week's new font release is a taste of something that always made me think of summer. Growing up, my favorite frozen treat from the ice cream truck was always Bomb Pops. And now you can express that flavor with "Rocket Pop," a parody font of the classic Bomb Pop logo! The upper case letters include the extended back-stroke effect and a number of the lesser used characters have alternate letterforms. The family includes 15 versions, each with an extended character set.

Rocket Pop

This week's updated font is Version 4.0 of "Xcelsion." An earlier, retro-looking font of mine, Xclesion has been recreated from scratch. Version 4.0 redesigns several of the letters, smooths out the lines and corrects a number of design flaws. In addition, Xclesion now has improved kerning and also comes with a grand total of twenty-six (26) versions in the font family. Plus Xcelsion's extended Latin character has also been completely overhauled as well.

My first OpenType font releases!

July 21, 2016.

What do you get when you cross my Danger Flight font with the Microbot video game logo? You get the new font release for this week "Dangerbot." The letters have been modfified and each one has a circuit-looking notch within the character's upper left stroke. Dangerbot is an italicized font with many of the upper case letters having an extended down stroke. The family includes fifteen (15) variations and each has an extended Latin character set.

Dangerbot

The updated font for this week is Version 2.0 of "Outrider." Version 2.0 increases the letter spacing to look much better at medium to smaller point sizes and cleans up a lot of the contours. In addition, several of the letters have been redesigned. Outrider now has improved, more consitent kerning and with the newest versions brings the total within the font family to twenty-six (26)! As before, Outrider includes an extended Latin character set.

A Minor Font Update.

July 19, 2016.

I'm releasing Hong King Hustle Version 1.1 which fixes an error in the upper and lower case "D" characters. Thanks to Kyle for letting me know of the flaw!

Cool Hand!

July 13, 2016. Here's two fonts from a few years back I never got around to releasing.

The two fonts are companion fonts and are based on movie posters for the classic Paul Newman movie "Cool Hand Luke." Left Hand Look is a roughly hewn typeface with something of a rocky, stencil look and feel. The font family includes a total of fifteen (15) different versions for different effects, and each version has an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro.

Left Hand Luke

Right Hand Luke is styled after a different movie poster. This font is likewise roughly hewn but without the stencil effects in the above. The font family includes thirteen (13) different versions and each version comes with an extended Latin Character set that includes accents and the Euro.

Solid Block, and make it a double!

July 1, 2016.

The new font release this week is "Contour of Duty." Contour of Duty is another take on the classic block alphabet made up of basic shapes that kind of all began with the Pac-Man logo all those years ago. Many of the letter have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases and includes includes fifteen (15) variations in the font family for different effects. Each version comes with an extended Latin Character set that includes accents and the Euro.

The updated font this week is Version 3.0 of "Bal-Astaral." Bal-Astaral is another of my oldest font releases and was the first block/basic shape font that I made. Version 3.0 completely restructures the character set for better consistency and vastly improved looks. The larger "upper case" letters are a little smaller now in comparison to the lower case and the font now has kerning. Bal-Astaral now has nineteen (19) variations and the each has an extended Latin character set.

This week's new font release is "Navy Cadet." Navy Cadet is a clean, sharp science fiction font that will make your project look ultra futuristic. The updated font this week is Version 2.0 of "Frozen Crystal." Frozen Crystal is an LED/LCD display font that's slightly italicized (though there is a striaght version as well as differing italic versions). Version 2 rebuilds the font from scratch and now includes eighteen (18) variations for lots of effects. Many of the letters have alternate letterforms between the upper and lower cases and the font family has an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro.

Geometry and Comics!

June 17, 2016.

The new font release this week is "HEX:gon." HEX:gon is a geometric ding-font built inside matching hexagons. The hexagons can be lined up staggered, alternated, etc. The font has different versions between the upper and lower cases and comes with with 17 total versions for different effects. The extended character set holds yet more versions of the letters and a number of related dingbats and symbols. As for the font's odd naming, that was done so that it's previewed the way I wanted.

HEX:gon

This week's updated font is Version 2.0 of "Buchanan." Based on the original title logo of Marvel's Captain America comic books. The font is named after his faithful sidekick, James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes. Version 2 changes several of the letters, improves uniformity and has better spacing. Plus the font now has kerning. Buchanan comes with 30 versions for more options than you can shake a stick at and several of the letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases!

The Need for Speed!

June 9, 2016.

The new font release this week is "Turbo Charge." Turbo Charge is a techno sci-fi font that sports a true upper and lower case character set. Turbo Charge nicely invokes a sense of hi-tech speed, especially the italic versions! The font family comes with with a wide ranging twenty-seven (27) versions for all kinds of looks and effects. Plus each verison has an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro. Get out of this font's way or get flattened!

Speaking of speed, this week's updated font is Version 3 of "Oramac." Based on one of the past logos for Chevrolet's Camaro, Oramac is an expanded title/display font. Version 3 recreates the font and changes several of the letters that in the prior versions looked kind of goofy to me. Plus the font now has kerning, better proportions and an improved extended character set. And check out all of the new versions now totalling twenty-nine (29)!

Retro-delic Fun!

June 2, 2016.

This week's new font release is "Funk Machine." Funk Machine is a bold, blocky retro font harkening back to the 70's and 80's. Having a throw-back party? Then Funk Machine is your dope! The font family comes with with fifteen (15) different versions for different looks and effects and each verison has an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro. Also, the capital letters are larger than the lower case to allow for an approximation of capitalization.

The updated font this week is Version 2 of "Replicant." Another of my oldest fonts never really cleaned up before, this reto-looking sci-fi font looks like it was created specifically for robots and cyborgs (hence the name from the movie "Blade Runner" based on a Philip K. Dick classic novel). Version 2 of Replicant recasts the font for better consistency, proportions and a vastly improved extended character set. The font also has kerning now. Plus there are a lot of new versions for a total of 27!

LCD!

May 24, 2016.

The new font this week is "LED Sled." LED Sled is an electronic display font with a true upper and lower case character set. Some of the lower case letters may be a little weird looking but I tried to keep each letter within the "LED template" used for the upper case. The LED Sled family comes with (11) different variations, each with an extended character set.

One New Font and TWO Minor Updates!

May 13, 2016.

This week's new font release is "Earth Orbiter." Spinning in from low earth orbit, Earth Orbiter is a light and elegant sci-fi font when you're not wanting heavier weights or overly ornate characters. Thoroughly futuristic, many of the letters have missing strokes. The font family includes 33 versions for different looks and effects and each verison has an extended Latin character set. Also, many of the lower case letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases.

The updated font this week is Version 1.1 of "Northstar." Released about 3 years ago and modeled after the logo of the classic Japanese anime "Fist of the North Star," Version 1.1 corrects two issues with the typeface. The spacing between letters was too tight and the spacing between the words was too big. Version 1.1 greatly improves the spacing. Version 1.1 also adds kerning to the font. With a few extra versions thrown in, Northstar now has 23 different variations.

The second update is for a font I only just released last week. It's Version 1.1 of "Zoom Runner." Looking at the font yesterday after it was released on Dafont.com I decided I just didn't like the lowercase "d" character - it was too narrow compared to similarly shaped characters. So I chnaged it - across all 27 versions!

The Letter of the Day is Z!

May 6, 2016.

This week's new font release is "Zoom Runner." Zoom Runner is a geometric sci-fi stencil font made up of squares and diamonds. I put a lot of effort into making the letters as precise and consistent as possible but still maximize legibility. The font family includes a total of twenty-seven (27) versions for different looks and effects and each verison has an extended Latin character set. Also, many of the lower case letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases.

The updated font this week is Version 3.0 of "Zyborgs." A retro looking sci-fi font, Zyborgs goes WAY back for me. The last update was 12 years ago just to add an extended character set. Version 3.0 recasts the entire font, increases the spacing, alters several of the letters and includes kerning pairs. Zyborgs now has twenty-nine (29) different variations, each with an extended character set. Also, several of the lower case letters have alternate forms from the upper case letters.

Italic Goodness!

April 29, 2016.

This week's new font release is "Chicago Express." An all-American font inspired by early print typefaces from around the turn of the 20th Century, Chicago Express is a bold charcter set with letters matching the old woodcut designs. The font family includes a total of twenty-seven (27) versions for all kinds of weights and effects and each verison has an extended Latin character set. Also, the capital letters are larger than the lower case to allow for an approximation of capitalization.

This week's updated font is Version 2.0 of "Avenger." An all-purpose sci-fi font, Avenger has been fairly popular eventhough - or perhaps because - its design is pretty basic. Version 2.0 cleans the font up, alters some letters, increses legibility and includes kerning pairs. Avenger includes twenty-three (23) different variations, each with a recasted extended Latin character set. Plus, many of the lower case letters have alternate forms from the upper case for mixing and matching.

The new font for this week is "Spartaco." An italicized sci-fi font (though there is a "straight" version in the ZIP file), Spactaco may be tall and narrow but it's also heavily bolded. Also, all of the upper-case letters have a single, up-turned serif in the upper right corner of each glyph. The font family includes a total of fourteen (14) versions for various different looks and each verison comes with an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro.

This week's updated font is Version 3.0 of "U.S.A." While never one of my more popular fonts, I always liked it's style with the super-wide letters. Version 3.0 re-casts the font to add kerning and to improve curves, spacing, letter proportionsa and other tweaks. I also removed a lot of the "alternate" letterforms in the lower-case because they just didn't look good to me anymore. With a number of new versions, U.S.A. now comes with nineteen (19) different variations.

LED Heads Up!

April 14, 2016.

This week's new font is "Pocket Ball." Pocket Ball is an LED styled display font composed entirely of little circles. Be warned, the number of objects in each glyph makes this a very large file, especially the outline versions. Pocket Ball also looks best at medium and larger point sizes, but using it at smaller point sizes still creates a nice little "mesh" effect. The family includes seven versions for different looks and effects. And each verison comes with an extended Latin character set.

The updated font this week is Version 2.0 of "Interceptor." Interceptor has been a fairly popular font of mine for some time now, so I decided to update it and add kerning. When I started though, it became clear any updated version was going to need a lot more work. Version 2.0 improves the quality of the lines and curves, modifies the spacing between letters and words and now includes kerning pairs. There's also a lot of new versions bringing the total to twenty-seven (27)!!!

Thin is In!

April 7, 2016.

The new font for the week "Banshee Pilot." Banshee Pilot is a thin, high-tech sci-fi font that's sleek, slick and sick. Ultra-futuristic with clean lines and curves, even the bold versions are relativley thin! Banshee Pilot includes a whopping twenty-seven (27) versions for different looks and effects. Plus each verison comes with an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro. In addition, many of the letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases.

This week's updated font is Version 2.0 of "Factor." Factor is another of my oldest fonts, maybe one of the first ten I made in the late 90's. And it was never, never, ever updated. Horrific to look at in the font editor, Version 2.0 vastly improves the quality, cleans up all the edges, includes better uniformity and now sports an extended Latin character set. Plus the font family now includes kerning. There's also a number of new versions for a total of fifteen (15).

Spring Cleaning!

March 26, 2016. It's the first week of Spring so I'm sweeping out the old font garage and releasing three older fonts I've never got around to releasing.

The first "new/old" font is "98 Bottles of Beer" and was made back in 2014. An all-purpose cartooning and comic book dialogue font, 98 Bottles of Beer has a bit of the "blotchy" look that you'd get when using a felt tip marker and changing directions of the stroke. 98 Bottles of Bear comes with fifteen (15) versions for different weights and effects, and each comes with an extended Latin character set. Where's the 99th beer? I'll never tell!

Coming straight out of outer-space, "Holo-Jacket" is the second font and dates back to 2015. With cut-aways and sharp points, Holo-Jacket is a straight up sci-fi font and is designed for legibility at smaller point sizes as a text font. The family includes thirteen (13) variations, each with an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro. In addition, many of the upper and lower case letters have alternate letterforms for mixing and matching.

And finally, the third font is "Major Force" dating back to 2013! Major Force is an action-oriented font with a futuristic feel. Somewhat tall and narrow, the font still has a decent weight to it for general title and display purposes. The font family includes a total of twenty-five (25) versions with several of the Leftalic versions as shown below (and each with an extended Latin character set). Also, the capital letters are larger than the lower case to allow for an approximation of capitalization.

I'll Be Back... Again!

March 17, 2016.

This week's new font is "Cyberdyne." It seems a number of people online think the title logo for the "Terminator: Genisys" movie was a modified version of my Spy Agency font. I don't know if that's the case or not but I thought I'd try my hand at transforming Spy Agency into a font that looks like the logo. The result is Cyberdyne, a futuristic sci-fi font where most of the capital letter have an extra stroke at the top-left like the "T" does in the movie poster. Cyberdyne includes nineteen (19) versions each comes with an extended Latin character set.

This week's updated font is Version 3.0 of "Terra Firma." Tera Firma was my first ever publicly released font some 18 years ago, and now the font has come full circle. So many of the lines and strokes were disproportionate and the extended character set... well, it sucked. Version 3.0 gives the font a cleaner, smoother and more proportionate look and greatly enhances the extended character set. In addition, the spacing has been improved and each version now includes kerning. There's also a number of new versions for a total of nineteen (19).

Two'fer Tuesday!

March 8, 2016. This two fonts go tall and narrow!

The first new font is "Battleworld." A bit of a retro sci-fi font, Battleworld looks like it just popped out of an old fashioned vector arcade game. With tall, narrow characters and sharp angles, this techno font sports a true upper-case capital letter set and lower-case letters. Plus the font family comes with plenty of variations, twenty-one (21) in all, for various weights, widths and effects (my favorites being the italic ones). Each version comes complete with an extended Latin character set.

The second new release is "Y-Files." A font based on the logo of the original X-Files television series that launched the franchise, Y-Files's thin and narrow characters allow it to be used in even the narrowest of spaces. Y-Files comes with ... wait for it... twenty-nine (29) variations! Check out the "Title" versions for extra-wide spacing between the letters (shown in the black & white graphic below). Each version has an extended Latin character set with accents and the Euro.

Super-Extra-Heavy Bold!

March 3, 2016.

This week's new font is "Illumino." Illumino is an extra-heavy all-caps title/display font that's really bold. I mean its really really bold. Did I mention it's pretty bold? Using this font will give whatever project you're working on real weight - literally! The Illumino family includes twenty-two (22) versions for different wieghts and effects and each version comes with an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro. Be careful not to fall into this font's gravity well!

This week's updated font is Version 2.0 of "Red Rocket." Based off of my Battlefield font, Red Rocket is a derivative modified to look like the modern Green Lantern logo. Version 2.0 reworks the character set for better quality and consistency and adds kerning (which was much needed). Version 2.0 also reduces the size of the upper case letters to look better as a whole when used with the lower case ones. There's also a number of new versions for a total of twenty-three (23).

In honor of Episode VII

February 23, 2016.

This week's new font is "Dameron." My favorite character in the new Star Wars movie is probably Poe Dameron - sort of the new Han Solo for this trilogy. This new font that bares his name is true sci-fi coolness. Wide and not as bold as a lot of my other tech fonts, Dameron is clean and legible at any point size though designed primarily for title purposes. The family includes 25 versions for all kinds of effects, each with an extended Latin character set.

The updated font this week is Version 2.0 of "War Machine." Another one of my earliest fonts, War Machine has never been updated before. Because of that, Version 2.0 completely overhauls the font from head to toe resulting in a better quality font. War Machine now includes full punctuation and an extended Latin character set, adds kerning pairs and comes with a number of new versions bringing the total number of fonts in the family to eleven (11).

From Knowledge, Sea Power.

February 11, 2016.

The new font this week is "Annapolis." Named in honor of the U.S. Navy and its academy, Annapolis is a semi-rounded and bold sci-fi/futuristic typeface. Annapolis was designed as an all-caps font with a lot of alternate letter forms between the cases. But then I also designed a full lower case letterset and made a number of variations with a true lower case. The result is a whopping thirty-six (36) different versions in the family. Plus each version has an extended Latin character set.

The updated font this week is Version 2.0 of "7th Service." One of my older and more popular sci-fi fonts, it's hard to believe I've never updated this font before, not even to include a fuller character set. Fully re-casted, Version 2.0 of 7th Service now includes full punctuation and an extended Latin character set, greatly improves the overall quality of the letters and adds kerning. And with a lot of new variations there is now a total of twenty-five (25) versions in the font family.
