Laser Card!

April 21, 2018.

Today's new font release is "Laser Wolf." With something of a diamond cut design in the corners, Laser Worlf is a true sci-fi font. Relatively thin and notched, use Laser Wolf whenever you need sleek with a twist! The font family comes with an array of 23 versions for a bunch of different effects and each one has an extended Latin character set (including accents and the Euro). In addition, many of the letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases.

The updated font is a minor update to "Wildcard." One of my personal favorites, Wildcard is a squarish futuristic font with several letters smissing strokes. Unfortunately, the widths of thos letters missing strokes didn't match up well with the other letters, being too condensed. Version 3.1 adjusts the width of several of the characters for a better overall look. With a few additional versions thrown in, the font family now has a total of 19 variations.

Comic Books and Disco!

April 11, 2018.

Today's new font release is "Kangaroo Court." Acutally made in 2013 (yes, five years ago!) but never before released, Kangaroo Court is a sweet comic book lettering font. The add to its usefullness, the font has built-in bolded versions of the letters in the upper and lower cases so that you can add the emphasis to certain words and sentences without leaving the same font. The font comes with a total of 11 versions and each one has an extended Latin character set.

Today's updated font is Version 3.0 of "Nolo Contendre." A 70's and 80's retro-styled font, Nolo Contendre's lower case letters were way too small in comparison to the upper case. Oh yeah, and the font was a mess. Version 3.0 recasts the font with lower case letters that compliments the upper case much better. Version 3.0 also cleans up the font, redesigns several characters and adds kerning. The font family now includes 17 different variations.

Code of Bushido!

March 29, 2018.

Today's new font release is "Royal Samurai." With sharp strokes and angles, Royal Samurai is a bold, wide, futuristic looking sci-fi font. It's dimensions and stroke widths make Royal Samurai feel absolutely solid in its cutting-edge look. The font has alternate letter forms between the upper and lower cases for each letter. Royal Samurai's font family comes with a total of 25 versions for various looks and effects and each one has an extended Latin character set.

Today's updated font is a minor update to "Zounderkite." Released about a year ago, Zounderkite is a cartoonish font with a whopping 30 versions in the font family. Only problem was that the letter spacing was too wide for this kind of typeface. Version 1.1 corrects this and condenses the spacing to make the letters group together tighter. This makes the font better suited for its intended use.

It's Spring Break!

March 16, 2018.

The new font release is "Darklighter." The font is named after Luke Skywalker's best friend who was written out of the Star Wars movie - Biggs Darklighter. Darklighter is a tall, slender font with rounded outer corners and sharp inner corners. The font has true upper and lower case letters, kerning and an expanded Latin character set (including accents and the Euro). The font family comes with 11 versions for various weights, dimensions and effects.

Next up - First "Kovacs" was updated and now it's sister-font "Kovacs Spot" gets an update. The companion font to Kovacs, Kovacs Spot has various circles and half circles within the letterforms. Version 2.0 rebuilds the font, improving the quality and design of the characters, redesigning several letters, fleshing out the extended character set and adjusting the spacing. Version 2.0 also includes kerning and adds several new versions for a total of 16.

Search Page Update!

April 10, 2018.

I know a number of areas of this site are out of date and I plan to begin addressing some of them. One part of the site that was woefully out of the date was the Search page where people could search for fonts across a number of websites. I've completly revised the Search page and expanded the number of online resources that can be searched from it. If you're looking for fonts, give it a try!

Smooth Techno!

April 3, 2018.

The new font release is "Light Brigade." Light Brigade is an all-purpose sci-fi font with blunted corners as a result of its octagon-like design. Highly legible and decidedly techno, Light Brigade is a lighter weight typeface thought the family includes bold and extra-bold versions. The combined family comes with 19 versions and each version comes with an extended Latin character set. In addition, most of the letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases.

Light Brigade

The updated font is Version 2.0 of "Kovacs." A very old font of mine, I always liked to look of the font but its quality was horrendous and the font didn't render well. Starting over from square one, Version 2.0 completely rebuilds the font, improving the quality and design of the characters, redesigning several letters, fleshing out the extended character set and adjusting the spacing. Version 2.0 also includes kerning and adds several new versions for a total of 16.

Two'fer Tuesday!

February 20, 2018.

The first font release is "Star Nursery." Star Nursery is a unique looking, stencil-like sci-fi font. Bold and different, each character is formed out of a central "black hole" - this font is geometrically out there! The font family comes with a total of 17 versions and each version includes an extended Latin character set (including accents and the Euro). Many of the letters also have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases. Go get 'em Space Cadet!

The second font is brand new dingbat, "Motorama." Motorama is a cool dingbat font with over 150 automobile manufacturer logos and car model logos - plus a few other related dings. Perfect for car enthusiasts and fan pages, this one's got all the major manufacturers and brands plus a number of the lesser known ones. Use of a character map program, such as Windows' Character Map, will be very helpful in exploring and using this font.

Space Ninjas!

February 10, 2018.

Today's new font release is "Ninja Garden." Ninja Garden was designed after the logo of the classic video game Ninja Gaiden. Bold and different, Ninja Garden looks better italicized but there are just as many non-italicized versions to increase its flexibility. The family comes with 18 versions and each version comes with an extended Latin character set. In addition, a number of the letters also have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases.

Today's updated font is Version 2.0 of "Space Ranger." Only released five years ago in 2013, Space Ranger has been a very popular font but there were aspects of it that I just didn't like, including the overall quality of the font. Version 2.0 re-works the entire font and its extended character set as well as redesigns several of the letters. Version 2.0 also has better spacing and kerning and adds a bunch of new versions to the family bringing the total to 27 in all.

Tech & Computers!

January 27, 2018.

This week's new font release is "Capricus." Capricus is an italicized typeface that's as bold and powerful as it is sleek. The character set combines straightforward techno characters along with others that are more retro in look. But since all of the letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases you can mitch and match them to get your preferred look for any give word. The family comes with 26 versions for lots of different looks.

The week's updated font is Version 2.0 of "Xped." Created in 2001, Xped was my first ever retro "computer" font based on the (then futuristic-looking) Mattel Electronics logo. Version 2.0 updates the the entire character set to improve the letters and numbers, the overall quality and better spacing, as well as expanding the extended character set. Version 2.0 also includes kerning. There's a ton of new versions in the family bringing the total to 29 in all.

First font releases of 2018!

January 13, 2018.

With the holidays over, I'm getting back into the swing of things. The new release is "Eyes Only." Eyes Only is a dingfont (not dingbats) of stencil lettering on paper folders. Perfect for spies, shady government agencies and rogue agents. The upper case has slightly more skewed letters than the lower case to further create the illusion of three dimensions. The family comes with 30 versions for a ton of looks and effects, including a lot of 3D and distorted versions.

Eyes Only

The update this week is Version 2.0 of "Nerualnomicon." Continuing my updates for a lot of my earliest fonts, Neuralnomicon was a cutting edge techno font from way back that never got updated. Version 2.0 redesigns the font from the bottom up, improving the letters, quality, spacing and the extended character set. Version 2.0 also includes kerning for all of the variations. With a bunch of new versions, the font family now has 23 in all.

Last font releases of the year!

December 23, 2017.

It's been a few weeks but here's a brand new font release for your enjoyment, "Lifeforce." Lifeforce is based on the logo of the old sci-fi movie of the same name. What I like about it is that it's not a sci-fi design per se but can be used across any number of genres to make your text stand out. The family comes with a set of 25 versions for different looks and effects. In addition, a number of the letters also have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases.

Lifeforce

This update is Version 2.0 of "voxBOX." voxBOX was an early font of mine that's never been updated before. It's a straight forward design with the upper case letters encased in a box outline. So the font has a built-in special effect when you mix up the cases. Version 2.0 improves everything in the font but does not include kerning because that messes up the look between the cases (so you'll have to manually kern certain pairs). And the family now has 17 versions.

May you all have a Happy Holiday Season!

Remember, Remember the 5th of December!

December 5, 2017.

The new font release this week is "Miracle Mercury." Miracle Mercury is a distinctive sci-fi font with a great sense of fluidity. Thin strokes and rounded curves, the lines of the letters flow nicely. The font family comes with a a ton of variations - 31 versions in all for different weights, widths and effects (and each version has an extended Latin character set). In addition, all of the letters also have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases for mixing and matching.

This week's updated font is Version 3.0 of "U.S.S Dallas." Designed to look like lettering for hull markings on spaceships, U.S.S. Dallas has been a somewhat popular font over the years. Simple, clean and straight-forward, its a sci-fi themed font with great utlity. Version 3.0 improves the character set and spacing, includes kerning and also adds a number of new variations to bring the total in the font family to 29 - each with a full Latin character set.

Legionary Two'fer Tuesday!

November 21, 2017. A celebration of one of my all-time favorite super-hero teams - DC's Legion of Super-Heroes!

The first font for this special Two'fer Tuesday is "Legio Sabina." Legio Sabina is a faithful recreation of one the older LSH comic book logos that was super futuristic. While the font has "straight" versions, to get the look of the LSH logo you should use the italicized ones. Speaking of versions, the family comes with a total of 27 versions for different looks. Each version has an extended Latin character set and many of the letters have an alternate form between the cases.

Legio Sabina
Legio Sabina
Being the comic book super-freak that I am, thrsecond font is a dingbat font. "Legionnaires" is a dingbat font with over 200 silhouettes of just about all of the iconic members of the Legion over the years. From Superboy to Saturn Girl, from Lightning Lad to Timber Wolf, and from Mon-El to Karate Kid, they're all in here! Use of a character map program, such as Windows' Character Map, will be very helpful in exploring and using this font.

New Futuristic Font!

November 11, 2017.

Now that the Halloween Fontfest is over, let's jump back to some nifty-spiffy sci-fi with "Youngerblood." Thin and fluid with a lower-case letter design, Youngerblood is extemely legible and works well and most all point sizes. The font family comes with a total of 14 variations, each with an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro. Also, a number of the letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases for mixing.

Last font of the 7th Annual Blocktober Halloween Fontfest!

October 27, 2017 - Once again, this year's Blocktober Halloween Fontfest was a lot of fun for me and hopefully one or two of the fonts caught your eye. To bring the Fontfest to a close, here's "Dokter Monstro" and it's truly monsterous! Battered and tattered, Dokter Monstro looks like it was crafted from splintered boards. The font family comes with a wide ranging twenty-one (21) versions with lots of effects to choose from. Each version also has kerning pairs and an extended Latin character set with accents and the Euro. Enjoy Halloween everyone!!!

The Halloween Fontfest starts to draw to a close.

October 24, 2017 - But not quite yet! Here's another two Halloween fonts for your viewing pleasure.

The first font today is classic horror movie - "Monster Hunter!" Harekning back to the b-movies of old, Monster Hunter is a general, all-purpose halloween font that can be used just about anywhere. The family has 27 versions for different effects - check out the "warped" version shown in the color graphic below! Each version comes with an extended Latin character. Plus, the capital letters are larger than the lower case for an approximate look of capitalization.

The second font is "Wicker Man." Pointy and prickly, Wicker Man looks like it was made out of sharp straw ends. This font is not super-ornate which makes it great for text at smaller point sizes. The font family comes complete with a total of twenty-one (21) different versions for all types of looks, each with an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro. There may be another font squeezed in here so you might want to check back one more time!

The Halloween Fontfest continues!

October 20, 2017 - And the Halloween hits keep coming!!!

First up is "Terror Babble." Quivering in its own shoes, Terror Babble is a shaky Halloween font! The font's design is something of a horrow headline font which makes it easily legible for use at even smaller point sizes. The font family includes 26 variations for different effects so you don't need a graphics program! Each version comes with an extended Latin character set and the capital letters are larger than the lower case for an approximate look of capitalization.

Terror Babble

The second new font is "Swordtooth." Sharp and extra-elongated, Swordtooth looks like the font of a metallic demon. Akin to the teeth of a saw, Swordtooth is deicsively evil! This font family also comes with 26 variations for all kinds of looks - be sure to check out the wavy-like "warped" versions! Each version contains an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro. Plus many of the letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases.

Blocktober Halloween Fontfest!

October 17, 2017 - Two more brand new Halloween fonts as the Blocktober Halloween Fontfest continues!

"H" is for Halloween so we're sticking with fonts that have names beginning with the letter H! The first new release is "Hemogoblin." Dripping with thick, coagulated blood, Hemogoblin oozes with terror! And I think the name is a nice little play on "hemoglobin." The font family includes a total of twenty-four (24) variations for a variety of looks and effects. Plus each version also includes an extended Latin character set (that includes accents and the Euro).

Hemogoblin
Hemogoblin
The second release is "Hitchblock." Styled to look like the movie posters for a lot of Alfred Hitchcock's horrow films from decades gone by, Hitchblock is an uneven and angst-ridden font with no consistency whatsoever. The font family includes 19 versions for different weights and styles. In addition, the capital letters are larger than the lower case to allow for an approximate look of capitalization. More to come for this year's Fontfest, so keep checking back!

Blocktober Halloween Fontfest!

October 13, 2017 - It's Friday the 13th! What better day to kick off the seventh annual Blocktober Halloween Fontfest! with a new Halloween font and a witchcraft dingbats font! And remember, you can still find all of the Halloween fonts from last year's Fontfest at the bottom of this page!

First up is "Howlin' Mad." Howlin' Mad is a chipped, chiseled and cracked horror font with a bolded design to give it real weight. Unsettling and uneven, Howlin' Mad comes complete with a total of twenty-one (21) variations for all kinds of looks and effects (each version including an extended Latin character set). In addition, the capital letters are larger than the lower case to allow for an approximate look of capitalization.

Howlin' Mad
Howlin' Mad
The second font is "Hermetic Spellbook." Hermetic Spellbook is a Halloween-themed dingbats font with over 90 occult and witchcraft symbols. With a look and feel of a handwritten scrawl, Hermetic Spellbook is a great font to spruce up your Halloween party invitations, as well as any other horror/scary themed project. The font includes three (3) versions - regular, italic and 3D. We're just getting started with this year's Fontfest, so keep checking back!

All Hallow's Eve 2017 is fast approaching!

October 10, 2017 - Here's a preview of things to come for Iconian Fonts' 7th annual Blocktober Halloween Fontfest! Over the next week or so I'll be releasing a number of Halloween fonts and to get in the "spirit" here's the first one - Hot Kiss! Hot Kiss is on fire - literally! And my God, it's full of stars too! This is a font I made 5 years ago but never got around to releasing - hell I had forgeotten about it. But it's a good font for this year's fontfest as its flames and stars give a nice evil feel to it! The font family comes with 12 versions and each includes an extended character set. Be sure to check back often over the next ten to fourteen days!

Intergalactic, Planetary, Planetary, Intergalactic!

September 27, 2017.

Introducing a new sci-fi font, "Intergalactic." While Intergalactic is technically a sci-fi font it has a real comic book look and feel to it, making it a fun little techno font to use. The font family comes with a total of 17 variations, each with an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro. Also, many of the letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases for mixing and matching. Now off to the stars young cadets!

Intergalactic

Intergalactic
This new updated font is Version 2.0 of "Nightwraith." Modeled after the Bridgestone tire logo, Nightwraith is part techno, part sci-fi and all badass. Version 2.0 does a lot to the original typeface. Greatly improved spacing, several re-designed characters, several alternate letterforms between the cases, kerning pairs and other clean-up edits. The family now has a total of 23 variations, each with a full Latin character set (including accents and the Euro).

We all live in a Super Submarine!

September 10, 2017.

The new font release this week is "Super Submarine." Super Submarine is a bold and rounded stencil font. To me, it's curves makes it pleasing to look at for a stencil font. The font family comes with a total of 25 versions for all kinds of different looks and effects. In addition, most of the letters also have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases for mixing and matching. Each version includes kerning and an extended Latin character set. Bon voyage good mariner!

Super Submarine

This week's updated font is Version 3.0 of "Metal Storm." Metal Storm is a full-bore, over the top sci-fi font - or as I like to call it, "ultra-sci-fi." A "second gen" font of mine, Version 3.0 brings this typeface up to standards with improved spacing, several re-designed characters, kerning and other clean-up edits. With the new versions, the family now has a total of 21 variations, each with a full Latin character set (including accents and the Euro).

Bad A$$ M***** F&%$#+!

August 25, 2017.

This week's new font release is "Bad Axe." Bad Axe takes bold to a whole new level. Fat and thick, it's a sci-fi font that lands on the page like an elephant! The font family comes with a total of twenty-one (21) versions for different looks, weights and effects. Many of the letters also have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases. Plus each version includes kerning and an extended Latin character set (including accents and the Euro).

The updated font for the week is Version 2.0 of "Questlok." Questlok takes futuristic to the extreme and is pretty unique looking typeface. A "first gen" font of mine that was never updated before, this font needed a lot of work to bring it up to snuff. Version 2.0 recasts the font, includes a full Latin character set and adds kerning (which was much needed for these irregular characters). With the new versions, the family now has a total of twenty-one (21) variations.

R-r-r-r-racket Squad!

August 17, 2017.

This week's new font release is "Racket Squad." Racket Squad is a cartoon font inspired by the logo of the comic book adaptation of the 1950's TV show "Racket Squad." It's a fun and different looking font tht's perfect when you're wanting a more uncommon look. The font family comes with a total of twenty-one (21) versions for different looks, weights and effects. Plus each version includes kerning and an extended Latin character set.

Racket Squad
Racket Squad
The updated font for the week is Version 2.0 of "Lightsider." Lightsider was a font that had a decent premise but less than stellar execution. So Version 2.0 recreates the font to improve almost all of its aspects. Version 2.0 also adds kerning to the typeface family. Lightsider is an italicized font though there is one "straight" version. With a number of new versions, the family now has a total of twenty (20) variations (including a number of "compact" versions with tighter spacing).

"STRIKE" strikes twice!

August 5, 2017.

The new font release this time around is "Strike Fighter." Strike Fighter is a cool all-caps, all-purpose, action-oriented sci-fi font. It's sleek and modern looking and can cross genres for use in any number of different themed projects. The font family comes with a total of twenty-one (21) versions for different looks, weights and effects. Plus each version includes kerning and an extended Latin character set (including accents and the Euro).

Strike Fighter
Strike Fighter
The updated font is Version 3.0 of "Strikelord." A futuristic sci-fi font released about six years ago, I was never quite satisfied with how it looked - especially the spacing between the letters which was too wide for the font's weight. Version 3.0 starts all over again to modify a number of the letter designs, corrects errors, improve the spacing and add kerning. With a number of new versions, the family now has a total of twenty-five (25) variations.

Other Worlds!

July 21, 2017.

This week's new font is "Cydonia Century." Cydonia Century is a brand-new text serif font for medium and larger point sizes and comes with true upper and lower cases. Stylish with a touch of both futurism and elegance, Cydonia Century isn't limited in theme and can be used for all kinds of purposes. The font family comes with a total of 19 versions for different weights and effects, each with kerning and an extended Latin character set (with accents and the Euro).

Cydonia Century
Olympic Carrier
This week's update is Version 2.0 of "Xephyr." Another ultra-futuristic font, Xephyr was inspired by the older, obsolete logo for Quicksilver Clothing. Extrapolating all the characters was a lot of fun, but it's original execution was less than stellar. So redesigning the font all over again, Version 2.0 corrects inconsistencies, fixes bad curves and bends, and fleshes out the extended character set. Version 2.0 also adds kerning. The family now has a total of 24 versions.

New and Old Sci-Fi!

July 8, 2017.

The new font for this week is "Olympic Carrier." A heavier set sci-fi font, Olympic Carrier was named after a spaceship from one of my all-time favorite science fiction series, Battlestar Galactica (the re-imagined series). Blockish and bold, Olympic Carrier exerts serious gravity. Each of the letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases. Plus the font family comes with a total of 20 versions (each with an extended character set). So say we all!

Olympic Carrier
Olympic Carrier
And the updated font for this week is Version 2.0 of "Graymalkin." Super-futuristic, Graymalkin is an italicized font with sharp lines and cool curves. Version 2.0 corrects a lot of inconsistencies and errors, improves the extended character set and maybe most importantly adds kerning (which for this font is a bit of a must have to make it look right). The family has a total of 25 versions broken down into two basic categories - regular and compact with tighter spacing.

Blue Blazes!

June 24, 2017.

This week's new font is "Indigo Demon." Indigo Demon is a sharp, stylized title font inspired by the original comic book logo for DC Comics' Blue Devil superhero. Bold and wide, this font packs some weight and its sharp points will grab your reader's attention. The family comes whith a total of 21 versions for different looks and each has an extended Latin character set. Also, a number of the letters have alternate forms between the upper and lower cases.

Next, the updated font for the week is Version 3.0 of "Funny Pages." Another of my "first gen" fonts from going on 19 years ago, Funny Pages is a bold cartoon font that's fun and bouncy. The upper case letters are larger to give an approximation of capitalization. Version 3.0 recasts the font with each character being re-designed for better curves, proprotions and overal quality. Version 3.0 also adds kerning and there's now a total of 17 versions in the family.

Sci-Fi Part Deux!

June 10, 2017.

The new font this week is "USAngel." A bold and curved sci-fi typeface, USAngel includes a true upper and lower case letterset to provide the ability to use it as an all-caps title font or as a mixed-case font for subtitles. The font family comes whith a grand total of 25 versions for all kinds of different looks and each has an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro. USAngel also has kerning pairs for applications that support kerning.

And this week's updated font is Version 3.0 of "Oberon Deux." Oberon Deux was a derivative "sister" font to Oberon that has cut-outs and cut-aways in the characters. I figured that since I updated Oberon I'd also update its sequel! As before, Version 3.0 of Oberon Deux reconstructs the font to improve the quality and consistency of the characters and punctuation and adds kerning. With its new versions there's now a total of 25 variations in the family.

Sci-Fi Old and New!

June 1, 2017.

This week's new font release is "Master Breaker." Master Breaker is an 80's inspired action title font that will grab the viewer's attention and say "cooooool." The font was designed as an italicized typeface, but it looks slick whether oblique or not. The family comes with a total of 25 versions and each has an extended Latin character set that includes accents and the Euro. In addition, many letters have an alternate form between the upper and lower cases.

Master Breaker

And the updated font this week is Version 3.0 of "Oberon." Oberon is true sci-fi - and is a font I've seen pop up in numerous places over the years. But it was hight time for a face lift - Version 3.0 reconstructs the font to improve the quality and consistency of the characters, improve the punctuation set and also to add kerning. And there's a number of new versions as well for a total of 19 variations in the font family, each with an extended character set.
